21.5 contact hour or 3.225 CEC has been approved for participating in the conference by the AMERICAN BOARD OF HISTOCOMPATIBILITY AND IMMUNOGENETICS
It will be a great honour for us to host you all 2017 at another great location of Europe, in the Rhine-Neckar Region with two beautiful cities of Germany in close proximity, Mannheim and Heidelberg.
With the motto “Translational Immunogenetics” we will do our best to offer you an exciting scientific program covering the latest developments in the field of Immunogenetics.
The scientific part of EFI-DGI Joint Meeting 2017 will be held in Mannheim, in the modern conference centre Rosengarten which is embedded into one of the largest and most beautiful Art Nouveau parks in Europe across from the Baroque Water Tower of Mannheim. I am sure you will enjoy this location with its light and fountain shows, cosy cafés and international restaurants. The Quadrate City Mannheim is “the” shopping paradise of Southwest Germany. With its churches, synagogues and mosques, Mannheim will surprise you with a great diversity of sights and experiences. The castle of Mannheim is – only after Versailles – the second largest Baroque ensemble in Europe.
For the gala dinner we invite you to the world-famous Heidelberg Castle. After a Welcome Reception on the Castle Terrace, we will dine and dance in the King’s Hall and be spoiled by the Michelin star cook Martin Scharff.
Mannheim is only 30 minutes away from the Frankfurt Airport and Heidelberg is only 15 minutes from Mannheim by train. Included in the conference fee is the Rhine-Neckar Ticket which will allow you to explore exciting locations in the region by public transport including the Schwetzingen Palace with its splendid French and Turkish gardens and Mosque, the most famous wine region of Germany, the Palatinate, the Roman town of Ladenburg with the museum dedicated to Carl Benz who constructed the first automobile in Mannheim, and situated on the Neckar River, the romantic city of Heidelberg where many people lost their hearts. You can get a breath-taking view from the Philosophers’ Walk onto the old town of Heidelberg, visit thereafter the Student’s Jail and, if you stay one night longer, enjoy after an asparagus-wine dinner the famous Heidelberg Firework Display on Saturday evening, 3rd of June. The castle will be burning again!
Looking forward to seeing you all in Mannheim and Heidelberg,
on behalf of DGI and Conference Co-Presidents
Volker Daniel, Sabine Scherer, Michael Müller-Steinhardt, and Hien Tran
