Mannheimer Schule 2.0
The Electoral Palatinate Chamber Orchestra project is aimed at schools in Mannheim, and in particular children with a migration background from problem districts of the city. In cooperation with the world champion of street dance David Kwiek, alias Mr. Quick, the project is introducing school students to classical music in combination with modern street dance, and providing teachers at secondary schools in Mannheim with dynamic and creative support. Last year the project successfully reached the final of the talent show Supertalent.
Ron Jerome Amponsem
The native of Heidelberg wrote his first song when he was just 14 – a passion that continues to thisday. Having grown up and put down roots in Mannheim, he is now 30 and has been working on his debut album for a year in the multi-award winning TrueBusyness Studios Berlin, which is run by Sascha-Busy Bühren, one of the most successful sound engineers in the state. The artist is produced by the successful music producer Kiko Maßbaum, who has also received multiple gold and platinum awards, as well as the renowned “Echo” music prize.
Luna & Lewis
A duo in an unusual constellation, who get into their audience’s heads and ears with atmospheric vocals and melodious basses. The unique sound texture they create is a fascinating combination of melancholy, a hint of pop, electronic influences and acoustic jazz which lingers and asks you to do the same.
The Mannheim duo Luna & Lewis, consisting of Laura Volk (vocals, guitar) and Jeremy Heiß (keyboard), was formed in 2014 while they were both studying at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts. After starting out as “musical guinea pigs”, in 2015 the Mannheim pop promotion project “Bandsupport” took them under its wings, and they are now gradually conquering the stages and ears of the Rhine-Neckar delta.
